Bestselling Author J.L. Beck brings you the next best thing in dark romance. Dangerous ties, a love story so raw and powerful it will set your lady-bits on fire.

“I was one of New York’s most dangerous criminals. She was the good girl from down the street. I should’ve know what fate had planned the moment her name showed up on my kill list.”

Reader Warning: Please be advised this is a dark romance. Some themes may cause triggers. 18+ Only.

He was bold, intoxicating, and held a darkness that pulled at my heart-strings.
I wanted him from the very first moment I saw him across the dance floor at the club.

She was quiet, but her eyes, and body said everything her words couldn’t.
I didn’t know who she was when I took her and made her my own.

We had already crossed a dangerous line that there was no coming back from.
We were on the run. From who I didn’t know, but he told me it would all be okay. That he would do whatever he could to protect me from the people that were hunting us.

What I failed to see was that the monster had always been right within grabbing distance.

Now that I was apart of his world, his life, and hopefully his heart could I survive the carnage that was about to take place?

The ties that binded us, were also the ties that would end us.

I loved him, and now all that was left for me was death.

Melt – Netgalley

Published December 31, 2014 by Book Junkette

Happy midnight, my sweet scones!

While everyone else is out celebrating, the Junkette household is watching cheesy movies and reviewing books!

Tonight’s selection is Melt by Selene Castrovilla, by way of NetGalley.

Gotta love them!

This started out odd.

The way it was written, made it hard to read, understand.

We all know I have issues with my head, yes? I’ve gone over this before.

In spite of this, I kept on reading, intrigued by this off tale of Dorothy.

About halfway through, it couldn’t hold my attention anymore.

To the DNF pile it goes.

Maybe one of my darlings will enjoy it. Someone without reading issues.

Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer – Netgalley

Published December 31, 2014 by Book Junkette

Wow! Two reviews in one day!!

My poor darlings are going to faint from surprise! 😉

Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer, is courtesy of Scholastic, via NetGalley.

Sadly, this is another DNF.

Initially, reading the blurb, this book sounded incredibly unique.

However, it read more like a Middle School title, as opposed to a YA.

The writing was..let’s not go there.

It just didn’t hold my interest. Tho I did my best.

The plot was interesting, but I couldn’t get more than 5 chapters in.

Don’t let that discourage you, my crullers!

This Junkette just has an off mind is all.

Check it out, let me know what you think!

Bloody Bloody Apple – Netgalley

Published December 31, 2014 by Book Junkette

Hello my cinnamon apples!

Today’s review is brought to you by Howard Odentz, courtesy of Netgalley.

Initially I picked this book out, because both the title and cover art intrigued me.

Sadly, about 4 chapters in, it became obvious this would be a DNF for me.

The plot was slow to start, and I couldn’t finish. Honestly, did try my best to continue, but to no avail.

It’s nothing against the author, it just happens sometimes.

To those that enjoy a slow paced murder mystery, try this one out!

Afternoon, my sweet strudels

Today’s post is about books..and how we catalogue them.

As for me, I’m old-fashioned.

While I do simply adore my Book Catalogue app, sadly only available on Android..

The deepest, darkest, Junkette pieces of me, requires ALL ebooks be HAND!

Now..we are talking over a hundred books, from LibraryThing Early Reviewers and Member Giveaways..ALONE.

That is not including my NetGalley ARCs, books on my Kindle, Nook, and Kobo apps.

Let alone what I have saved via Smashwords

Oi..close to five hundred..easy.

If I even thought of adding in my physical’d be never ending.

I kind you not.

I’m in the process of revamping my Book Catalogue/LibraryThing/GoodReads, with my books..

Never. >~>

Can’t ever prove anything!! Bwahahahahhaa!!

Erm, sorry. Book Junkette moment.

So I throw this to you, my adoring crumpets, what is your level of book obsession?

Are you like me?

Taking apart old notebooks, to give them new life?

Or is your inner Junkie/Junkette satisfied with a easier yet less amusing method?

Amusing..because of a certain weasel, name’s Creature Who Rules this House..steals my pens with their grips, to sacrifice to her ‘God’.

Sound off, my pumpkins!

I want to hear all the odd and unique ways to list our beloved books!

xx Tara
